I Am Frigid...Why?

I Am Frigid...Why?

Those Eurotrash loving funsters at 'Eurotika!' strike once again with another slice of groovy grade z exploitation from the self proclaimed 'king of crap' Max Pecas in the world DVD premiere of 'I Am Frigid...Why' (aka Je Suis Frigide...Pourquoi?).

'Frigid' is director Pecas's follow up to his moderately succesful (and thoroughly entertaining trash) 'I Am A Nymphomaniac'. The film follows the misfortunes of a young gardeners daughter who (before the opening titles are barely over) is raped by an incestuos brother/sister team and the experience leaves the poor lass frigid, and guess what - she wants to know why?

Top drawer entertainment here for fans of this genre of movie, it's positively stuffed to the guddles with spot-on classic bad dialogue and gratuitous tacky pervyness that should bring a smile to even the hardest of faces. Such golden lines like "anyone can open a hymen, but it takes real work to make love to a woman" or when our leads nympho pal declares "oh, if only I could swap a piece of your frigidity for a slice of my nymphomania" - hold me back, classic trash indeed!

Our poor lead (played by the lovely Sandra Julien) really does get put through the mill (as they say!?). Although she is suffering from 'frigidity' she doesn't seem to have any problems getting some action thrown her way, with a continous stream of eager horny gits all ready to perv on her at a moments notice while she puts on a brave face - everyone from her school chum to her dad's boss/son/daughter etc!

So, whilst seemingly the use of 'Frigid' in the title scared some punters away from seeing this film when it was first released (they probably thought it would be 90 odd minutes of some poor lass with three layers on from head to toe steering well clear of the opposite sex). I can happily confirm that this is not the case and in fact many of you will indeed need a cushion handy just in case you need to hide your 'embarresment' if caught short swinging to this groovy movie!

Yes, thrill to a classic piece of trash! See some downright romantic perviness! See the the most hilariously bad theatre group do their thing! Hear some seriously groovy cafe jazz! See what a swinging party really looks like! Will our heroine find the pleasures of sexual satisfaction? Who knows and really, who cares - but, you'll have a hoot watching to find out!

'Eurotika!' have yet again done a great job with this production - the print is lovely and the optional English/French audio is nice and clear throughout. The extras as ever are thorough and entertaining too, with some great detailed biography pages, a cool (text) interview with Sandra Julien, a sizeable still gallery and the always welcome inclusion of a segment from the TV show 'Eurotika!' featuring interviews and an overview of Max Pecas's work.

A thoroughly enjoyable slice of dodgy retro Euro fun and a well rounded package from the folk at 'Eurotika!' Sexploitation fans go seek this one out now!
