Western madness!Canadian genre muso Chris Alexander is pleasing genre fans no end with the launch of Meridian Music, a new label offering sumptuous alternate soundtracks to European horror/exploitation films from the Golden Age. Out now for your delectation is Pittsburgh prog rockers 'Zombi's debut CD, Chris Alexander's own ambient variant soundtracks of Mario Bava's 'Planet of the Vampires' and Sergio Corbucci's gore western 'Django' as well as Matthew Garsia's chaotic poetry tome 'Legacies of Hunger'. Also, fans of the output of the multi-talented Lucifer Fulci (if you haven't read his gore-shock novella 'Siki City' then do so now!) will be thrilled to hear that his horror punk band 'Penis Flytrap' are back with another truly stunning CD 'Dismemberment' which contains 13 tracks of ghoulishly cool punk fun (including new versions of the classics 'Dead Hate The Living' and 'Cemetery Girl'). The Von Dooms are here!

Punk-tastic!Horror punk fans will be well advised to get in early and check out the 'hot' new band 'The Von Dooms' before they become deservedly big! Hailing from Richmond VA, this three piece of spine ripping mayhem sound like a cool mix of the old Misfits and the Ramones gone wild and have been on constant play here at SGM Towers.

Led by the multi-talented Destro Von Doom, the band play ghoulish tributes to the likes of Lovecraft and Poe with a tip of the hat to classic movies like the Living Dead trilogy et al. Currently 'The Von Dooms' have a tape 'From Beyond' available from Reanimator Records (click here for ordering details) but are currently working on their debut CD release 'Hour 13' (which we've had a sneak peek at and loved it!)

Simonetti Lives!

Essential!Fans of the legendary Italian composer Claudio Simonetti will be thrilled to hear that his rock project band 'Daemonia' have just released a full length live CD entitled "Live or Dead".

This stunning album is a live reworking of Daemonia's 'Dario Argento Tribute' backed with a full classical orchestra and includes such gems as 'Profondo Rosso', 'Tenebre', 'Phenomena' and loads more. Also included is three new studio covers of the themes from 'Halloween', 'Tubular Bells' and Enrico Simonetti's 'Gamma'.

Misfits Crypt

ghoulish!

SGM's favourite horror punks have just released (on Halloween of course) their final album with RoadRunner records. 'Cuts from the Crypt' contains a great selection of ghoulish demos, out-takes and rarities. The album is the perfect creepy companion piece to the previous two 'new' Misfits albums (there's even a cool version of the 'Monster Mash') and is well worth picking up if you like your punk tunes with a bloody bite - check it out!


Giallos Flame On!

Did you think the halcyon days of the Italian classic soundtrack were long gone? Yes, well you'd be wrong! The team here at SGM were thrilled when the new CD 'Giallos Flame' arrived here at SGM Towers.

Groovy!Just out from Della Morte Music is this excellent all-new retro trip down Euro-horror way! Using only original instruments from that glorious period, Ron Graham delivers a stunning tribute to an era long gone, with a selection of cool tunes that really wouldn't be out of place on many of our old Italian faves from the 70's!

Everything's here, with tracks that sound like they were jam sessions with the likes of Fabio Frizzi (the excellent 'Zombi:Return to Matool') and Budy Maglione ('Cannibal Main Theme'), Goblin and more. There's even some stunning giallo numbers in there too ('The Next Victim').

Damned Disorder

excellent!Horror punk (and SGM) faves 'The Damned' have exploded out of nowhere with a stunning new album that we can heartily recommend you all go out and buy right now! Top vampire Dave Vanian has teamed up once again with songwriting maestro Captain Sensible to deliver the goods in the CD 'Grave Disorder' that both harks back to the giddy heights of 'Strawberries' and eases in the flavour of the new punk generation with some simple but biting lyrics and pogo-inducing frenzy!

This latest incarnation includes on bass the lovely Patricia Morrison (of Sisters of Mercy and Mrs Vanian notoriety) and wacky new boys Monty Oxy Moron (keyboards) and Pinch (drums). This must have album is being released by the canny folk at Nitro records and is so good that it's on permanent loop here at SGM Towers! Pagan Beat

Chill out in style!Not only are the gang at 'Pagan Films' bringing us the worldwide DVD premiere of some of the coolest rarest cult films around but now they are making their mark on the music scene too.

Hitting the shelves any minute now will be their CD debut of Vampyre Soundtrax Volume 1 called 'Virgin Kiss'. This seriously groovy collection of retro horror movie soundtracks includes such gems as Dracula AD 72, Vampire Lovers, Venus in Furs and loads more.
